MARGARET WITHERS

BIOGRAPHY

Margaret Withers was born in Austin, Texas and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. The foundation for her art came during a largely unsupervised childhood in which she distanced herself from actuality by envisioning her own small world as a theater and casting herself as both playwright and lead actor in countless fictions. Including undertones of play and humor in her work is her way of engaging the viewer, extending an invitation to spend some time in this space and figure out the story, or to pretend a new one.
