Hale Johnson

Hale Johnson's paintings capture the countryside of Western Massachusetts, coastal Maine and Northwestern England.  His work sits comfortably in the tradition of classic American realism and most resembles the art of Eric Sloane, Winslow Homer and Andrew Wyeth.  Although his subject matter is the places people live and work you won't see the occupants, only evidence of their lives.
